Steel Fabricators to provide structural steel for new Solar Plant

Steel Fabricators of Monroe is proud to announce a contract award for structural steel for the Solana Project in Gila Bend, Arizona.

The Solana Plant consists of a 280 MW Solar power plant covering almost 6 square miles that will allow energy generation while also adapting to consumer demand in the region. Scheduled to be one of the largest solar plants in the world, the Solana plant will have the capacity to supply green energy to over 70,000 Arizona homes upon completion.

Steel Fabricators of Monroe will fabricate approximately 2500 tons of structural steel for the project. Steel Fabricators President John Hunter says, “We are excited to be involved in this green energy project. To be a part of a project that is to become the largest solar source power generation plant in existence is exciting to all of our employees.”
